Thank goodness for Molly Ivins, the original Southwestern Liberal. Someone who actually understood what it's like to grow up surrounded by rednecks and yahoos, and who would speak up and expose their bigotry and stupidity. I'm really going to miss her. One other thing: notice how she could provoke such an over-the-top reaction from idiots like Fred. Guys like that can ignore liberals like Nicholas Kristof and Michael Kinsley. But Ivins always scared them a little, so she could always get a rise out of them.
