Illegals shouldn't be in tents or prisons - they should be immediately deported along w/ the anchor babies after their photos, fingerprints & DNA samples are taken. Then if they're caught in the country again - esp if they commit another crime - then fry their illegal butts.

I can confirm what the detainee has said about her facility. The father of my children was in the san antonio and finally the laredo facility in texas and the conditions were horrible. The officers were disrespectful and treated him badly. They were a few who were sympathetic but the majority were horrible. Lets not talk about the cost of the phone cards, snacks etc. U are moved and don't even know where u are going to. He started out in York, PA one day later he was in san antonio Texas without any notice, was there for a week and went to Laredo where he spent the rest of his time until he was sent to Jamaica. He was not here illegically but he did commit a felony, I understand but the conditions that the detainees are kept in are atrocious. Privatizing prisons I think was a mistake, America fights for prisoner rights in other countries but treat the detainees horribly. Now I agree, if someone is here illegically there is no need for them to have a trial or anything because a trial and due process are for people here legally and committed some kind of crime. U don;t have the right by law to be here u should be sent home immediately barring extenuating circumstances. The conditions at these facilities has to change and soon these people are human also and are already dealing with alot. THey should be treated better.

My God after reading the letter from the detainee. No wonder America does nothing to deter Israel from committing genocide and terrorism to the Palestinian people they are as bad if not worse themselves.
America has no respect or value on the human life but those in power they are the terrorists in this case. I am horrified at the horrors they are capable of. SHAME AMERICA!!

Have you forgotten that originally the border was open to all white immigrants? Those of you who are so upset because people are entering illegally, why don't you go back to where your ancestors came from...Do you think the Natives wanted you here? This was their country first...and Texas belonged to Mexico don't forget. But stealing...now that's not a crime...that is when you steal from Native Americans and Mexicans but come in search of better opportunity for food, health care, and education, and be colored, now you deserve to be locked up and denied due process. Sounds fair to me. And yes, it is a race issue because this country was never as open to colored immigration as it has been to white immigration...except to African immigration, now they were forced to immigrate...
