Dan – Yeah, it is great that they are finally turning on them, however, I wish it was because they were angry at the war crimes they committed rather than feeling they were betrayed and the fact they are losing support.

Good catch, especially on the damage this does to the community. The Republicans actively seek out token minority members for precisely this reason. It is tremendous that more groups are coming around on the soon to be former Attorney General.

Great post, XP. Really hits the nail on the head. Especially this:

As I mentioned before, it is one thing to be committed and supportive of the Latino community and communities of color, it is another to do it just because he is Brown. The truth is, Gonzales’ interest is confined solely to himself rather than to larger Latino communities. Gonzales’ conservative Republican politics does not promote a closing-ranks mentality; instead, his claim to being Latino is for the purpose of self-promotion, to gain power and prestige. All his professional life he has championed individual achievement and race-free standards. Now that he is seeing his ship sink, it was not a surprise to he see him whip out the race card of Latino victimization and Latino solidarity.

He’s pathetic. He took a chance to really stand up para la comunidad and turned it into a brokedown bank job and now his mugshot stares at the nation from every TV set and shames us all. Worst of all worlds, and that’s what you win for betting your integrity on greed and power.
