I will vote for McKinney if it doesn't look like McCain or any other warmongering Republican might win the election. I don't agree there is a "vast ideological" difference between Clinton, Obama, and McCain. But there certainly is one between McKinney and all of them.

McKinney is closer to a radical revolutionary (ooh, imagine that!). While McCain is a system pusher, and Hillary and Obama are system band-aids. Like Mumia, I dream of one day having someone like McKinney as President. But for now, we have to negotiate what little power the system gives us as people of color and of other marginalized communities.

If you really think the Democrats don't cause much suffering, think again and do some research. They've created wars and hated on people up there with the Republicans, and if anything they enforce the same elitist Republicrat system alive. I'd like to one day not have to choose between awful (Democrat) and too awful (Republican). I got issues with plenty Greens still, but I do agree with their political convictions (and those of Mumia) waaaay waaaay more than Obama and Hillary.

I've long thought that Abu-Jamal was full of crap, and this just confirms it. Anyone who wants to vote for the perfect candidate is going to have to write in his or her own name. That way, they don't have to compromise their principles one iota, and their vote will have exactly the same effect as it would have if they had voted for McKinney.

The reality is, there is a vast ideological gulf that separates McCain from either of the remaining Democrats. And the difference between having McCain and having either Clinton or Obama in the White House will be measured in human suffering.
