Rev Wendell Anthony Defends Rev Wright
The Rev. Wendell Anthony, president of the Detroit branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, introduced Jeremiah Wright during the NAACP’s 53rd annual Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner. Rev Anthony address the racism that has been lauded at Rev Wright and those who dare to speak truth to power. As he said, “No this ain’t about Barack Obama. This ain’t about Hillary Rodham Clinton. This ain’t about John McCain. It’s bigger than all of them. This is about the African-American church. This is about our people. This is about our right to speak truth to power.“

Rev Anthony, I am not a member of your church or the NAACP but I am a supporter of Senator Obama. Your performance on Spotlight and Flashpoint showed exactly what some of your motivation was to invite Rev Wright to be the keynote speaker at the Freedom Fund Dinner was. You behaved as snake oil salesman and a circus ringleader–”Have you got your ticket yet, call…” in an interview! It was clear that you wanted to show off in front of the international media and dash the hopes of people of African descent by dredging up the distraction of Rev. Wright from the nomination and maybe the presidency of Sen. Obama. I sensed jealousy from you and Rev. Wright. But, worse of all I felt you, Rev. Anthony, felt it more important to holler to the top of your lungs and behave flip it and show off in front of the international media than to assure the public that it was not you or the NAACP’s intention to draw negativity to the Obama campain but to make money. Unfortunately, you exploited the controversial situation the media caused between Senator Obama and Rev. Wright.
Instead of fighting against injustices like, driver responsiblity taxes, bulk trash pick up taxes, reparations and the deliberate employment apartheid practiced by this mayor, state and federal government!
I just want to conclude that I am aware of the history of the NAACP and that the jewish lobby controls the organization and the founders were jewish and that you have lobbied for the Clintons consistently. Therefore, I will never join your organization and will chant you, Rev. Anthony and NAACP down to everyone I meet.
