Denver Day One: Stranger in a Strange Land
As I walked around Denver to familiarize myself with the town and the places I am suppose to be to place my XP mark, I felt out of place. You can definitely feel there is a major police presence here and it is unsettling. I have overheard the undocumented are not reporting to work and people with out of state plates are having their car searched.
During my tour, I must have counted over 100 cops some in plain clothes and other in riot gear. Over head you can hear helicopters circling the Pepsi Center or The Can as the locals call it. But overall, the atmosphere is great and the people very friendly.
Last night, on live TV I saw the tornado that actually touched down 20 miles southeast of Denver. Television footage showed a dusty twister spinning through relatively open country, with scattered houses nearby.

Today, I do have plans to attend NDN’s Immigration Reform and the Next Administration. The people who will be speaking at the session are, Janet Murguia, President and CEO of the National Council of La Raza (NCLR); Frank Sharry, Executive Director of the National Immigration Forum; U.S. Representative Zoe Lofgren (CA-16), Chair of the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, Refugees, Border Security and International Law; Marco Lopez, Jr, Director of the Arizona State Dept of Commerce; and Andres Ramirez, Vice President of Hispanic Programs for NDN.
Soon after the session, I am planning to attend a protest held by the Colorado Minuteman Civil Defense Corps at Congress Park. The people who will be speaking are MCDC Founder & President Chris Simcox, VP & CFO Carmen Mercer, and National Director Al Garza. Those folks better watch out because I plan to swing at them with the force of a machete with my mad lingo.
I plan to update this post before the day is done.

I look forward to hearing more about your time in Denver, I’m jealous that you are there! Give Chris Simcox a BIG verbal chop for me!
