When One Door Closes, Another Door Opens
“When one door closes another door opens, but we so often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door, that we do not see the ones which open for us.”
- Alexander Graham Bell
We are often attached to the past that we oftentimes miss the opportunities that stand right before us. Not every plan works out, there are losses and failures, loss of money or job, sometimes unpleasant things happen. We don’t always have control over these happenings, but we can exercise control over our attention and attitude.
When these things happens and we focus our attention on the loss – we only see the closed door with frustration and unhappiness, but if we could see more than a closed door, we might be surprised to discover the world is full of opportunities.
For me, things did not turn out the way I hoped they would here in Houston. As this door closes, I am hoping to discover a world of opportunities at my new hometown of San Antonio. Yes my dear readers, I am moving. Houston, the city I lived in for over 10 years will no longer be my home. To all the wonderful people I have met here and had the pleasure of calling you my friend, I will miss you.
For those who I promised I would post on my experience at the NCLR conference, I will get to them once I settle down on Monday. For those who are waiting, keep a look out, my first post from my new town will hopefully tug at your heart strings and it did me when as I interviewed a family who lost their home due to the home foreclosure crisis.

Move to SoCal, get into Real Estate and leave the activism to the next generation.
Immigration will be settled soon. You’ve made your mark on that issue.
Now do something to insure your future.
