When MSNBC’s Chris Matthews asked Texas State Senator Kirk Watson, who is an Obama supporter, to name a “specific legislative accomplishments” of Senator Barack Obama, our poor state senator looked like a deer caught in the headlights. He was stunned and had nothing to say. (h/t to Tayor Marsh)
The short transcript from the Texas Observer.

Matthews: What’s the unique selling point of Barack Obama to Texans?

Watson replies with hope, excitement, building coalitions, yada yada yada

Matthews: You are a big Barack supporter aren’t you senator?

Watson: Yes, I am!

Matthews: Name some of his legislative accomplishments.

Watson now looks like the deer caught in the headlights.

Matthews: Sir, you have to give me his legislative accomplishments. You support him for president. You are on national television. Name his legislative accomplishments, sir. Can you name anything he has accomplished, SIR?!?

Watson now looks like the deer who just realize he is about to be roadkill.

Mathews: List Barack Obama’s accomplishments as a senator now. NOW!

Watson is now roadkill

The Pride of Austin couldn’t deliver when it mattered most. Maybe he should have read his own blog post as to why he is for Obama. Hopefully he posted Obama’s accomplishments there. Opps … never mind … nothing there too, it is full of fluff too.

I guess we won’t see our state senator on TV anytime soon.
